Day 8-Tour de France Stage 5

A day of Tour watching doesn't get any better than this!

We got off to an early start today, on the road by 7 AM, in order to get to a good viewing spot before the roads are closed.  Our drive was very pleasant; charming small towns and villages with minimal traffic and beautiful scenery.

We were not able to drive up the climb to the Col de Marie Blanque, so we went to plan B, and we ended up with a fantastic spot on the Col d'Ishere.

Here comes the Caravan, right on schedule, 2:40 PM.

The first rider over the Col d'Ishere, 4:12 PM.

The last group of riders, aka the groupetto, at 4:32 PM

Back to Arreau, just in time for dinner, 7:56 PM

Dinner is served at 9;29 PM.  Joni and I both had the lamb.

Agneau de 7 heures cuit dans sa Ratatouille...
