I started my day with a short ride along the roads surrounding out B&B.
After another delicious breakfast at the B&B Rosemary, Bill, Joni, & I headed to Avignon, just over one hour away to tour the Palais des Papes, which was the papal residence and the center of Western Christianity during the 14th century.
The French are very advanced in their use of technology, even in such ancient sites as the Papal Palace. Every visitor is given an iPad and in each room of the palace when you held up the device as if to take a photo with it, it showed you what the room looked during the Pope's residence. It was incredible.
This structure which is in the location of the altar in the main chapel was created with a 3-D printer!
Touring the Palais des Papes was amazing, but the heat was an oppressive 100° by 12:30 PM, so we headed to Le Vintage where we had a reservation for lunch. All the outside tables were taken when we arrived, but we didn’t mind a bit because the restaurant’s air conditioning was “super”. Our lunch was perfect, light and flavorful.
The Pont d'Avignon was our last must see in Avignon, so from there we made our way to the underground parking, removed our car from it's incredibly tight parking space and headed to Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt.

Wow! I’m not sure what is more beautiful the landscape or the food.
