Day 1-We've Arrived in Rennes

Bonjour, nous sommes en France!

Our flight from Montreal to Nantes arrived around 1 pm on Wednesday.  We picked up our rental car and immediately headed 100 km north to Rennes, the capital of Brittany.  The drive was easy, mostly highway with only a little traffic although I must admit getting in and out of our Kia is not the easiest task, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Our hotel, Castel Jolly,  for the first five days is beautiful and elegant beyond the photos from their website. 

Exhausted from our flight, after quickly unpacking, we napped until it was time to clean up for dinner. 

Dinner was at the "Bistrôt des Remparts", and after this meal, I said to Joni, "I could go home now."

Nantes had just hosted "Hellcats", a heavy metal festival.  Darn, we missed it!

Dinner in Montréal as we killed time before our 11:45 pm flight.

We are not in Kansas anymore!
